New York State Administrator - Ginnie Werner
Virginia is a retired office manager having worked in a variety of fields for both large and small companies including international import/export and advertising. She has a musical background and a love of dance led her to begin studying Middle Eastern Dance in 1980. She performing with Serena Dance Theatre, Morocco and the Casbah Dance Experience and The Anahid Sofian Dance Company with performances at Lincoln Center, The Cleveland Museum of Art and on Broadway at Town Hall.
Virginia was the director of a volunteer dance troupe choreographing both solos for herself and group dances for the troupe along with the design and execution of the costumes. The troupe worked with recreational therapy departments in hospitals and nursing facilities in the NYC area for 25 years and she was recognized as an Every Day Hero by Newsday for her volunteer work. Virginia was also a member of Matteo Vitucci’s “Castanets in Concert” – the only castanet chamber orchestra in the USA.
Virginia is the Corresponding Secretary for the Bellerose Commonwealth Civic Association and is on the Board of Trustees for the Rene Marie Language of Love Foundation for Stroke and Aphasia Awareness.
At the suggestion of a friend, Virginia entered the Ms NY Senior America Pageant in 2013 and, having never participated in a pageant before, was surprised and honored to be crowned the 2013 Queen. It was an exciting year after which she continued on as a member of the NY Cameo Club. As the years went by, she became more and more involved with the New York pageant preparation and learned about the business of running the organization. Virginia was the Pageant Director in 2023 and 2024 and continued on as the Showcase Coordinator through 2025. In July of 2025 she was asked to step up to the NY State Administrator position and will continue New York’s affiliation with the Ms Senior America Pageant system sending a New York Queen to the National Pageant each year.
Virginia believes that reaching the age of 60 is an amazing starting point to new adventures with which to challenge oneself and to continue to grow.
